The Silent Years - The Globe

The Silent Years is an American indie rock band formed by a group of long-time friends. On August 25, the group will release their latest record entitled The Globe through Defend Music.

"We were watching the film 'Powers of 10' which they used to show in middle school science classes. In the film, the camera starts out, framed on a couple having a picnic. Every 10 seconds, the field of view expands by a power of ten — the picnic becomes Chicago, Chicago becomes North America, and soon you’re seeing the Earth in the context of its solar system. This got us thinking about the similarities between mankind and all other components of the universe. An atom is to a cell, as a cell is to a man, as man is to the Earth, as the Earth is to the universe, etc." - a comment by vocalist Josh Epstein adapted from Defend Music.

Rich with melodic scoops, tasty rhythmic riffs, fantastic vocal job, attractive drums and percussion, the bottom line, you would not want to miss this one cos' I personally, strongly suggest this album.

Favorable tracks include The World's Worst Birthday Gift, On Our Way Home, Climb On My Back, The Axiom and Black Hole.

Converse Low Profile & Poorman

We be damned if we didn't show you these kicks by Converse. It's the All Star Chuck Taylor Low Profile and the Poorman Pro Team Hi.

The Low Profile is nothing but a simple kicks, with minimal branding and looks nothing like the usual Chuckie you seen on the streets. However, the black straps can already make your jaw drop wide open. Definitely a brilliant move.

Not leaving out the Poorman, utilising the the wonders of the black colorway, with grey-colored logo.

These two are now available at Seattle's Rock Paper Scissors.

Klaus Schulze and Lisa Gerrard - Farscape

German electronic musician Klaus Schulze invited Dead Can Dance's one half Lisa Gerrard to work on a double-disc album entitled Farscape, set to release on August 26 through Synthetic Symphony.

Originally offered as a digipack earlier, the forthcoming double CD album contains seven tracks totaling over 150 minutes worth of electronic melodies.

"I have wanted to work with Lisa Gerrard since the days of Dead Can Dance, but I never had an opportunity for such a collaboration. It's also not so easy to reach her on the phone," said Schulze.

"I know Klaus Schulze since Tangerine Dream. He is amazing, I mean, his work is sympathetic to a soul journey and has been for such a period of time," said Gerrard.

Gerrard and Schulze is currently on tour. Check on their site for the dates and locations.

The Mojomatics - Don't Pretend That You Know Me

The Mojomatics is a rock band based in Venice, Italy formed in 2003. They are set to release a new record after numerous releases in the past years. Don't Pretend That You Know Me will be released by Ghost Records making it's debut appearance on September 23.

The Mojomatics heap together hillbilly blues, old country, folk, and bluegrass, inject it with the melody of British Invasion pop, and fire it all out with the breakneck energy of the best garage/punk/rock'n'roll. The duo's playing is still tight and electric and it sounds like there's five of them, not just two!

This is Wait A While...

sgk verdict:- I barely know them, so I ain't need to pretend, but after getting to know them, it's amazing to know that a 2-piece band can create such wonderful music, and most importantly I have major obsession with minimalists. One great band to check out, and I strongly recommend this...
